Supported by Next New Wave is a grant started in 2016 where young filmmakers aged 18-25 get an opportunity to make a short film with a small grant of RM 3000 and a limited time of maximum one month. Young filmmakers are given a chance to experiment and make interesting work.
The young filmmakers must direct and write their short films and gather their peers to participate in their team to produce, production manage, be editors, sound designers, cinematographers and production designers. The finished work will be sent to film festivals and participate in curated screenings by Next New Wave.
There had been three projects made under the programme: Strnge Plce, Falling in Love Again, and 1304KM: Girl from Sumatra.
