Qistina Ruslan is a Stop-Motion Animator, Filmmaker, and Graphic Designer from Subang Jaya, Malaysia. She draws inspiration from her vibrant family of mixed heritage and race, people she meets, her memories of growing up in the small town of Peacehaven in the English countryside, wildly coloured things, and every song that gives her goosebumps. During her final year at Multimedia University, earning her Honors Degree in Media Innovation, she completed a series of commission stopmotion work, and used stopmotion as a medium for her final year project. Her films are heavily influenced by the works of directors such as Guillermo del Toro, Terry Gilliam, Wes Anderson, Tim Burton, and books by Dr.Seuss. Her films illustrate social issues through visuals focusing on high contrast, dreamlike imaginative other worlds filled with weird creatures and odd humor. When shes not animating, she enjoys running her small baking and design business, travelling, or spending time with her four cats.
